About me
Hello, I am Pavlos!
A biomechanist focused on the orthopaedic, med-tech and sport-tech industries. Since October 2023 I have been working as a Associate Specialist at the University of California, San Francisco.
I completed my PhD at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom where I worked closely with policy and medical stakeholders at the Rugby Football Union to study spinal injury mechanisms and provide injury prevention strategies to reduce player risk at a national level, by using techniques such as specimen testing, medical imaging and computational modelling. Most recently during my Post-Doctoral Research, I developed a computational framework combining statistical shape modelling, musculoskeletal modelling and predictive simulations for an assistive surgical technology study to investigate Reverse Total Shoulder Replacements.
During my national service as a Platoon Commander in the Artillery I fortified my teamwork and managerial skills. By assimilating complex information from senior officers on operational, training or logistical objectives I utilised my analytical problem solving and teamwork skills to solve problems in dynamic environments and keep those under my command safe.
My passion lies in solving clinical problems through developing orthopaedic and medical technology available to clinicians to improve peoples quality of life!
Oh and aviation, I love aviation!
In my free time I am a competitive rugby player, a keen cyclist and outdoorsman with a love of history.
